Mini Hostas

We have added many small and mini/dwarf hostas because many people prefer them to use in troughs, mixed pots, smaller gardens and even to plant between large hostas for textural contrast and borders. Because of their small size, you can better enjoy their total conformation. If you use them mixed with larger hostas, give them enough space to ‘shine’ and not be deprived of light by larger plants.

(Mini 'Sparkler' below left, New for 2014 'Mini Skirt,' below rt., pics courtesy Walters Gardens)

Like the larger Hostas, MinisWaltersGardens-HI21570-HostaMini-SkirtPPAF.jpg (51670 bytes) are great for the shade and from 1/3 to 2/3 sun.  There are thousands of varieties of Minis from blues, greens, and golds to beautifully variegated forms.  Many have lovely flowers.

The good thing about Minis is you can plant a lot of them in a small space.  The bad thing about Minis is you can plant a lot of them in a small space.  - Stan's philosophy #223
